The Metaverse Investment Fund is a currency arbitrage fund, similar in some ways to a hedge fund. However, it is unlike any fund you've ever seen before. We have been able to attain extremely high returns for shareholders, with limited risk, by focusing on virtual world currencies rather than traditional "real world" currencies. Metaverse Investement Fund focuses on short-term, highly predictable arbitrage trades to generate stunningly consistent week over week growth and returns, even in today's tough global economy. Virtual worlds on the internet are an extremely fast-growing market segment, with a virtual world economy's growth rates often measured in thousands of percentage points and virtual economies themselves worth tens of millions of US dollars.
Within this context, a virtual economy such as that of the online world can be thought of like any other emerging economy, with all of the attendant opportunities and risks. Of course, all of this economic output and value is mediated by exchanging virtual world currencies for real world currencies. In fact, the entire currency float of a virtual world can turn over every month or two, and that's where we come in, as a virtual currency arbitrage expert and market maker in virtual world currencies.
We understand where the internet is headed, and our fund seeks to be on the cutting edge of technology related investment opportunities. We've built our fund from the ground up to be a virtual world investment that is designed to integrate with virtual worlds, add value to virtual world economies and profit extensively from virtual world economic activity. Our fund's headquarters is in the virtual world of Second Life. All of our fund's share purchases, share sales and financial reporting is denominated in Second Life's virtual currency, the linden dollar or L$. We currently have L$9,192,701.93 worth of assets under management, which is worth about $33,428.01 US dollars. Since February 1, 2008, our fund has achieved a 59.234% direct return on investment for shareholders.
